Taki Tambo Lodge 

Thanks to its location close to the Cordillera Escalera Reserve, Taki Tambo Lodge is the perfect place for anyone who wishes to stay in a pleasant place, in optimal conditions of tranquillity and closeness to nature without being too far from the city and its many services.

It is a natural and comfortable lodge, located on the periphery of the Takiwasi Centre grounds, which welcomes participants to Takiwasi activities (such as retreats, diets, seminars), but is open to the general public.

No, it is a hotel establishment only. The Taki Tambo Lodge is a hotel with 12 rooms spread over 3 bungalows, and a common dining room, which functions independently from the Takiwasi Centre, with a private entrance. However, the Taki Lodge is the perfect place to stay for people participating in the activities organised by the Takiwasi Centre. Its lodging rules aim to create the conditions for this purpose.

No, Taki Lodge is open to all types of clientele. That said, there are certain rules to observe within the lodge, namely to refrain from consuming alcohol or drugs, and to refrain from making disturbing noises, while respecting the peace and quiet of others. At the time of booking at Taki Tambo Lodge, you are asked to accept these rules as a condition of your stay. Read more here

You will need to make 2 reservations:

  • one for before the diet in the forest;
  • and another one for after the diet in the forest.

During your stay in the forest, you will not be charged for the room, but you can make use of our luggage storage service.

Regardless of the mandatory dates for the retreat, you are free to arrive earlier or leave later if you wish to take advantage of tourism in the Tarapoto region (waterfalls, mountains, hiking, culture, etc.) and adjust your reservation accordingly.

Yes, percentage discount applies for stays longer than 15 days, and longer than 1 month. Please contact us for your long stay requests for availability and conditions.

The Takiwasi Centre is an NGO that has been involved in therapeutic activities and research projects in traditional Amazonian medicine since 1992. Taki Tambo Lodge is a legally independent company, which responds to the need to offer quality, safe and close accommodation to the large number of visitors who come to the Takiwasi Centre (dieters, seminarians, guests, outpatients, families of residents, researchers, volunteers, etc.).

Taki Tambo Lodge does not offer any therapeutic accompaniment, it is only an accommodation. All requests from guests will be redirected to the therapeutic team of the Takiwasi Centre.

No. The areas freely accessible to all guests are the library, the boutique and the chapel. The other facilities are only accessible to people undergoing therapy at the Centre and only within the framework of the scheduled therapeutic activities.

Natural dark tobacco being part of the uses of traditional Amazonian medicine, you can only smoke Mapacho tobacco or unflavoured pipe tobacco, preferably outside the rooms and making sure not to disturb other guests. The consumption of industrial cigarettes and marijuana is not permitted.

Practical aspects :

No, due to the proximity to the city centre of Tarapoto, it is easy for guests to choose from the many restaurants of all categories in the locality or to order delivery. In addition, visitors often have to follow a certain dietary regime and prefer to cook their own food. For this purpose, the lodge has a large, well-equipped, freely accessible shared kitchen and a dining and lounge area.

Yes, in coordination with our administration, we can pick you up with local transport, easily and safely at Tarapoto airport upon arrival of your flight.

Yes, we can take care of your laundry during your stay for an additional charge.

Specifically for participants of the Takiwasi retreats, we can ensure the safekeeping of your luggage during your stay at the nature reserve, for an additional cost.

The check-in is from 14:00  

The check-out is until 12:00

Depending availability, you could request an early-check-in or a late check-out, upon an extra fee equivalent to 50% of the room rate. Requests have to be sent by e-mail to reservas@takitambo.com

Online reservations and payments :

Our online booking tool accepts most Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, whether issued in Latin America, Europe or the USA. However, some banks may reject payment attempts. In this case, please contact us by email or Whatsapp.

Don't forget to activate online and overseas payments for your bank cards.

 Do I have to pay the total amount of the reservation in advance?

No, a 20% deposit is required to confirm the reservation. The rest is to be paid on site. See our General Terms and Boolking Policy for more information.

These are two different objectives and not necessarily associated. For activities related to traditional Amazonian medicine see directly with Takiwasi, for accommodation at the Lodge, with or without activities at Takiwasi, see directly with the Lodge.
